From Italian tanneries to your hands.
The Leather
We use only full-grain Italian leather — the top layer of the hide, with the natural grain intact. It is the strongest, most durable grade of leather available, and the only grade that develops a genuine patina over time. Our leather is sourced from tanneries in Italy with generations of expertise.
The Making
Each belt is cut by hand from a single piece of leather. The edges are burnished, not painted. The stitching is done by skilled craftsmen using waxed thread. The buckle hardware is solid metal. Every stage of production is carried out with the same attention to detail.
The Finish
Before leaving the workshop, each belt is inspected by hand. The leather is conditioned. The hardware is checked. Only belts that meet our standards leave Italy with the Daniel Mason™ name.
The Ageing
Full-grain leather is a living material. It responds to use, developing a unique patina that reflects the life of its owner. A Daniel Mason™ belt at five years is more characterful than it was on day one. That is by design.
